Overview of the User Interface Locations Within the AM.CO.ZA InkRIP Software (Part 1)

inkrip user interface
When it comes to learning a new piece of software, I always believe that one should start at the User Interface.
It is a bit like getting into a new car, before you start driving you first familiarize yourself with the controls and their locations.
This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers New, Open & Save Canvas.

Alright you guys, in today's video, we're gonna be looking at Encrypt's interface, and this will be an overview and we'll deep dive a bit later. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So, today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make short and easy to watch problem solving videos. We also have daily updates. Now, if we had to head into the programme here. So now, after we've installed it, got it up and running, we'll be met with this view. So this will be the main view of the programme, so most of the stuff will be done within um this area. So now there's a few different panels that we'll be using and we'll be using different names for them. So while you guys follow along, at least you have an idea of where we're at when we say the panels. It's not that important in the sense of um for the videos, but you definitely wanna get competent with this so that if you're working with other people or just navigating the programme, you have a better idea of where is what. So now, first of all, we have our main or our menu bar on top here. So, most programmes you'll have a main menu as well with this one, you'll see, you don't notice it here. You'll have to click over here to have some extra options, but most of the stuff will be happening here on the main or the menu bar. So then now you can see we got some undo redo those operations that you're familiar with. Then to the left of that, we've got the toolbar. Uh, you can also use this for um zooming and so forth, but also most of our drawing shapes and that will be done from this toolbar. So this will be our toolbar, and then at the bottom of that, you'll see we've got some extra widgets for modifying some of these features depending on what you have selected and what you wanna do to it. Then on our main design area, this will be our canvas area. So, we've got some blank space that's um on the right normally, and then we have our actual, the white area which will be where we're designing. You'll see we also have on top of your tabs and the job manager that we can switch around. So it's important to note that. Then also within our canvas area, we'll see we've got these little uh rulers. So here, we can kind of see what the scale is at and there's a few other things we can sit here, but mostly, you'll be using this for aligning things and seeing the scale. Then right at the bottom here, we have this little bar here, and this is called the prompt area. So anything that happens, so we'll show you here, um, sometimes, uh, well, how can I say, Um, Like when something gets updated or progress is happening, then you'll see a bar here loading a percentage. And then also if you hover over certain items, or have certain things selected, it will sometimes tell you stuff here at the bottom as well. So that'll be your prompt area. Now that is pretty much the main elements. So we've got our main menu bar on top here. I normally just call it the main toolbar, but um in this case, this is the main. Bar or the menu bar. I've got our toolbar on the left. We've got some extra widgets here depending on what's selected. We can do flipping, snapping, those type of things. Then we have our canvas area, some tabs, and then our prompt bar here at the bottom. We'll also notice on the far right there, I don't know if you can see it on the screen, but as I move my mouse cursor, it shows us the position of it. And on to the right of that, it shows our zoom level. So this is great if you wanna quickly know where your mouse code says, if you're doing measurements, or if you wanna see which zoom level you're at. As I increase and decrease, those numbers will also do so. But yeah, otherwise, that is on the overview on the main or should I say, the user interface. We're gonna dive into some of these things into more depth, but for now, in the meanwhile though, If we had to, let me just open Chromeia. So if we head here to softwaretraining.co.za. za, you guys will notice we've got a variety of different softwares we do cover, and you can also isolate your search on the top right. If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go here, request this training video, fill in them in the form, and then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise, thank you guys for watching and cheers.
