Howdy guys. In today's video, we're gonna have an overview of your printer drivers that we'll be using for ink grip. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So, today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make short and easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Now, when it comes to actual drivers, this is something that we'll be using at least most softwares and hardware. When you combine the two, we'll have a driver, and what it comes down to is it allows the programme to translate information across to the, uh, how can I say the device and from the actual device to the software. So it becomes kind of like a translator in many ways. So that let's say, um, in the case of encrypt, we might have something like multi-channel. So let's say your printer has more than CMYK. We've got like varnish, White, or you wanna set up custom ones. Then the software needs to know kind of where are those uh extra channels located on your printer. And then, likewise, then the printer can communicate to the software. Now, it is also used for stuff like printheads. So for instance, let's say your printer uses the Epson XV 600 or the 1600. Then, um, those hardware or the hardware printhead have limitations. So now, what happens is it allows it to translate it to the actual software. So, when you're designing and you finally rip your file, it is um compatible with the actual printer. Now, when it comes to the driver settings, there is many um that we're gonna cover, but there's also many more that's kind of happening behind the scenes which you never even see. And it's better if it stays that way cause yeah, you could break things. Now, these drivers also, like I say, will vary depending on the type of device you're trying to link to the um how can I say, the actual software. So for instance, even a normal computer mouse. Many times, there will be drivers for that. If you get a more fancy one with special keys and special functions, then you'll have to download some custom ones so that the computer can actually understand and know how to use all those extra buttons. Now, in encrypt, to get our drivers, we can simply go here to the top uh menu or the main menu, and then we go down here where we see print the settings. Now, if we click this, this will open up a dialogue where we can see all our available drivers, and then we also have a list of different operations we can Do with this. Now, if you followed along with the ICC colour profile, you'll also remember that we use this section to set up some custom resolutions and so forth, and we'll briefly covered in this topic as well as it is actually related to drivers. But yeah, before we get into those things, if we head to Uh softwaretraining.co.za. You guys will notice that we've got a variety of different softwares we do cover, and you can also isolate your search on the top right. If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go here, request the training video, fill in the mini form, and then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise, thanks guys for watching and cheers.
