vinylcut bezier curves shape tool
Controlling Bezier curves can be a tricky thing when making shapes and path curves.
Now with the Shape Tool you are able to make some more precise and finer changes to those Bezier curves and node points after the shape or path has been added.
This is part of a Mini-Series.

How are you guys in today's video? I'll cut. We'll be looking at the shape tool now to manipulate notes. They're busy. A curve and the type of corner You can say Just have a quick intro. Yeah, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. You guys will notice. We've got a variety of different software to cover, and we do upload videos daily. So keep an eye out for any new concept. Otherwise, back in the programme here, Just a reminder. This is a miniseries on the shape tool we've already covered in the previous one overview of the basic tool and then also how to move these points, how to add points on how to remove points. So now we're gonna look at today is these four corner types you can set up here or no types. Then just a reminder again. Like I mentioned other ones still can be rather frustrating if you are not zoom clean. So if you're zoomed out and you're trying to move a point, okay, you know how it works when you're making a video, it always works well. But, uh, most of the time you'll get this little move icon or try and move it and make a selection box. So the reason for that is, um, make sure you're zoom thing. It is a pivotal to this, uh, tool to work while as to zoom. So a few ways we can do that is, um, click on the low zoom to your left tube channel. Then we have the option on top. We've got to zoom in, zoom out, and we've got this little slider. If we move this, also zoom in and out, and also with your selected you can drag a selection box and into that. Or you can just keep holding and use your mouth well to zoom in and out and then to navigate your canvas. You can use these little arms. Yeah, so otherwise you're so let's get right into it. Let's go to our shape tour, which is on our panel on the left or the shock for it's a and then would select so the top left corner. As you can see, we've got these still editing arms or busier curve headed points. Then let's first. So we by default, we're on the shop corner, so this is just the basic corner with no real cook. So this is ideal for, like, jagged edges or sharp corners like this. Then next up, we've got this one which you can kind of control the Yeah, you can say one arm of that curve. So if you want to make a bit more unique shape, you can have around that goes into a flat edge, then next up, we've got the one with the two arms. If we select this point, select that one. Now, we've got two points that we can. Yeah, but two points, like I mentioned Now, when you adjust it, you will see they keep around or keep the corner smooth. But the nice thing about this is you can adjust each point how far it is if you've got one, a bit more of a a sharper bend or sharper, smooth bend. You can always pull these in, and then the corner will still be around. But it will be a bit more smooth. I mean, it will be still be a corner, but obviously you can also drag this out, drag one out more than the other one, and then you can get quite a unique shape and then look at this one in the last one we've got here. It's also a smooth corner Gonna show up in their stride Another corner here. So you've got the smooth corner. And what happens with this one is both these headed arms or stay in relation to each other. So if we consuming more mhm, we have this one selected and we drag it. You'll see as we bring it in. The other arm also comes in, Drag it out. It goes out. So they will kind of stay in some ways in relation to the other one. Based on our fall close, the arm is dragged. So this one is also can be quite useful. If you want to constrain that, make sure they stay similar. The other one, like I said, you're gonna get you can get quite a unique variation in corners. Then you can also use them to create these type of shapes that ultimately also just combination of some of these. There's your curve, so you can always, for instance, to levitate two middle ones and you can make them a sharp one, and then you can get like there are other interesting shapes with it, but this is unfortunate one of those tools you need to play around with quite a lot to get familiar with it. But you do use it so often in combination with other shapes, like a mentor and just drawing normal shapes and vector shapes that I would definitely recommend. Try get a proficient with this tool because it gives you a way more power to, uh, control shapes afterwards. Otherwise, yeah, that is the basic on the shaped too serious or the end of it. And like I said, it's a powerful tool, but it does require quite a lot of time. And if you don't zoom, you're gonna get rather frustrated. Otherwise, if we had to our website here, do you guys navigate to softwaretraining.co.za ? Uh, you'll find this video and more like it. As you can see, we've got a variety of different software to cover, and we have this nice little search option if you want to isolate your search if you don't find what you're looking for, or if not made that video yet, you can always just request the training video here, and then we'll make that for you. Otherwise, thanks guys, for watching and cheers
