SAi FlexiSTARTER 19 Converting Shapes to Paths (Part 6) Working with Paths Mini-Series

flexistarter shapes to paths

When it comes to converting base rectangles and oval shapes to paths, there is a good reason why you would want to do that.

This can be quite a confusing topic at first, as you would imagine that shapes and paths are all part of the same thing, not all of them have editing points though.

This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers Selecting Path Points.
Previous video covered Freehand Drawing Tool.

How are you guys in today's video? Flexi starter. We're gonna be looking at converting shapes two parts, but before that, let's have a quick intro first, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make sure that easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Otherwise, back in the programme here now, just a quick reminder. There's a miniseries. I'm working with parts, and I will leave relevant links in the description so you guys can actually follow along now when it comes to the actual converting of shapes, two parts and the reason why do you want to do this? Let's say you've created shapes using your basic rectangle or circle once you've created it. And we switched to the 0.2, which is to edit parts you'll see with these things selected, we actually have no points we can edit, so it's actually not a normal path yet. It's just a shape stop. So what you wanna do first? Select this, then with your normal selection tour and we go to the main menu on top, go to arrange and then we want to go to convert to outlines shortcut for that control shift. Oh, so if we select that, then if we go back to the point tool, you can see we can now see these points so we can actually edit them. Likewise, with a circle where you switch to it, you'll see there's nothing available. So we've got a range convert outlines. And now if we go back to our 0.2, we've got these points that we can manipulate. So if you wanted to use those shapes that you've created and turn them into parts, that is the way you go about it. But otherwise that is it on converting shapes and paths. If we had year to softwaretraining.co.za s here today, you guys don't just look at a variety of different Softwares. We do cover, and also you can isolate your search on the top of writer. Just click it or click here, talking what you're looking for and hit a little magnifying glass. But otherwise, if you didn't find what you're looking for, you are here. Request a training video starting the mini form, and then we will make that for you. But otherwise thanks guys for watching and cheers
