The Select by Attributes is a great way to quickly isolate certain design elements for quick access.
But not only that, you are able to use this feature to also see what attributes a selected object has, this is great when working on someone else’s project file.
This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers Select or Deselect all.

How are you guys in today's video? Flexi starter. We're gonna be looking at the feature Select Attributes. But before that, let's have a quick intro first, uh, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. Today you guys will notice We make sure and easy to watch problem solving videos. And we have updated updates, but otherwise back in the programme here. Now, just a reminder. This is a miniseries on selecting objects. We've covered a few different methods already, and I will leave relevant links and description so you can actually follow along. But like I mentioned today, we're gonna be looking at select attributes. Now, I'm just going to select this one just so that I can show some of the extra options under this feature. So to located, we want to go on top of to edit, then we navigate to select, and then we go select attributes. You can see the shortcut for that is deep. So if we select this as you can see, we have quite a few options here, so it was quickly run through them. We've got an object full stroke, an effect. But the nice thing about this is we can actually select multiple options. So let's say we want to select like the rectangles the moment you click, OK? Or select all the rectangles for us if I just show you So now you can see all the rectangles you are selected But now we go also Nothing too good mind we had to right Click like normal. Uh, before I go to select this function will not be under this. Just keep that in mind. So then any case? So let's go again. We go, uh, to edit, select select by attributes. I'll use the shortcut more in the future so you guys can quickly see what's happening. So now in any case, so now what we've just done We've said I'm just select rectangles Now we can also go to, let's say, the full Let's choose this, um, pink colour. And now, if we say okay will only select tangles with pink, which is a very, very fancy feature if you need to isolate this and the beauty of it is if I go back, there is a lot that you can cover. So if we go under each tab, you can go to show all and then you can see this is all the elements that you can end up isolating. So this is a great way to see what you can do is send with the face in the show. So just keep that in mind. So if you want to know what you can use within this select attributes, you can always get the shot hold. And then if we go, all types will select everything. So if you want to select everything, but I can't see why you can't do that, there's a quicker way to select everything. But then also a nice feature that you can or a nice thing you can use it for. Let's say I select this shape here, but I wanna see what does this contain when it comes to colours, groups and all of that. So now whether selected just d, we go to the same place, then at the bottom here, you can see we've got election. Only now if I click this, it will show only what is selected. So now we can see okay, so under shape, we've got an overall. Obviously the outline. Then we've got a group. So that all shapers group together. Then we've got a text which will be the S. And therefore we can see we've got, uh, the rust, orange and white so and that is good to know. So this will be your s the white. I'm not sure it might actually be maybe a fuller in the inside, I guess. And then, on the stroke here, we can see the stroke also has a rust orange. So I'm guessing this one's full be white. So let's just quickly go select within and just see that is yeah, that is correct. So the well, it's white. So there's a nice little tool to use if you wanna see what something is made of. Maybe you didn't create it. You open a project file and you wanna see what it's made of or you can't remember what yours was. So, uh, but like I mentioned, this is a very, very nice feature you can use in multiple ways. So just to recap again to, um, located under the edit, then you want to go to select and we go to select attributes. As you can see, the shortcut for that is deep. So this is one of those tools you can actually use very quickly because of its simple shortcomings. The one key shortcuts. Yeah, that is that on select by attributes. If we navigate here to softwaretraining.co.za y, we do have a variety of the software's we cover. And also, you can isolate your sister on the top right here. Just type what you're looking for a hit, a little magnifying glass button, and it will find it for you. But if your search for Australians no results you requested training video, then? Yeah, we will make that video for you, but otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and chills.
