VinylCut 5 Software Single Color Mode How You Able to Trace an Image, Step by Step Video

vinylcut trace image

Tracing an image in Single Color Mode might not be as fast as Color Layers Mode, but you have way more control.

Being able to isolate layers by color gives you the ability not to only control the outcome in more detail, but also enables you to only trace a single color from an image, this can be great for things like line art.

This video is part of the Trace Image series, so make sure to check out the previous video for a look at tracing an image in Color Layers Mode.
Next up we’ll be having a look at how to use the Draw Mask Option.

Video Transcript

Alright, guys. In today's video final cut, we'll be looking at the single colour mode for the trace image feature. Just have a quick intro video. Today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. Let's see that today you guys will notice we have a variety of different sources recover and we upload daily. So by therefore any new content. Otherwise, we're back in the programme here. Just a reminder. This is a miniseries on the trace image feature. So if you we won't be covering everything here. So if there's something you don't know, you can always look in the description for some previous videos. Otherwise, if we have trace button selected, this is little landscape icon and trace image properties pops up and then what we do after we have our source selected our input, we'll be going here to the image colour mode, making sure this is set to single colour. And then, uh, we have a colour box here, select which colour we wanna set and then, yeah, we can also use the show source image. So if we set the slider down Mrs Fiscal update preview, then we can see which colour we've got isolated So this is the colour. It's gonna turn into a lake now if we set a contrast, this will adjust the neighbouring colours. How many of them fit into the same colour. So if we just set this up, you can see the end. You can have the whole image as one colour, or you can get to a point where it's just the base. But for now, we're gonna do multiple layers with a single colour. So let's just This is the highlights. We'll start with the highlights. Then we wanna do is make sure you're at the bottom where it says prompt to continue tracing. Selected. But this will do is once you say okay, we'll ask you if you wanna carry on in this, uh, properties area to select more colours. So that's what we'll be doing. So any case? So let's start with the highlight. So we say okay. And also, what would you like to continue tracing this image to add more layers? We say Yes. Next, let's select another colour. So to do that, we wanna double click this little colour icon. Once we've collected, you'll see it says you choose the colour in the range a year on top. You can see which colour selected. So if we move there, we can see. So now let's take this shadow. So we've got the base colour or the highlights. Let's take the shadows. Now we're gonna see a the eye pupils and so forth. But let's increase this contrast of it. So we make all the shadows under one layer. So that looks good. Should see by the foot. Okay, so this is good. Then we can say once again. Okay, ask us the same question. We say Yes. Then now let's select. The outline is our last layer. So we double click the colour box again. Find the black selected should resume out to make sure our outlines are in. It looks good now. This time, though, once you click, OK, then we'll be saying no. So, would you like to continue tracing this image that had more layers? We say no. Once you say no, then it will help us to the programme with all our layers. We didn't do the white for the teeth, but that we can easily just put a shape behind it. It's white, but most of the times you're cutting on white canvas or printing on white. You don't need that colour in any case. So now what we can see on our right now, uh, players panel. And if we open this, we've got the individual layers. So let us just one group this quick. So we've got this selected. We go on top to object and group. Now, as you can see, we've got all the individual layers. Yeah, so now we can, actually, we've got the highlight shadow and the lines. So now if you want to make prints about with these individually, it's as simple as just hiding layers. So if you wanna do the outline, your print that you move the race for the highlights and then for the same for the shadow. Otherwise, yeah, that's the basics on the, um, trace image single layer mode. But if we just get to the website, you quick. If you guys navigate your softwaretraining.co.za t 00, you guys can find this video. And like I mentioned previously, we've got a variety of different Softwares. We do cover. We have a search option. If you want to isolate your search looking for something specific. And also, if you don't find what you're looking for, we've got this option. Request the training video, and then we will make that video for you. Otherwise, thanks, guys, for watching and cheers.
