In typography, a dingbat is an ornament, a glyph or spacer used in typesetting, often employed to create box frames or as a dinkus.
In other words it’s those special characters and symbols that one often needs but don’t know where to find.

Hi there, guys. In today's video with Final Cut, where we're looking at how to add unique characters to our mat. Just a quick intro. If you have to try, use, uh, keyboard commands and stuff like that, it's kind of a lost art form which nobody practise anymore. But otherwise for to do it, uh, in final cut, what we can do, I'm going to navigate to our libraries panel. So if we click that little book with a star and then we navigate to the fonts tap under the libraries Now keep in mind, these unique carrots are very depending on the front. You've got selected. So if we, uh, navigate down here and so you find some unique characters just deselect that so we can added to them, canvas is a new and as you can see here, you can simply just click on it, and then it will add it to the to the new text. And, uh, this is quite handy, you know, when you need that unique character in your your text. Otherwise, yeah, that's how we cover, uh, unique symbols in that to the math in final cut using the library panel.
