vinylcut path minus front back

Removing path shapes from the fornt or back layer to make interesting border shapes and designs.

This is a great way to first make a shape design that you would like to cut-out on a card or vinyl. With the option to choose ether the front layer or to use the back makes for a versatile feature.

Hi there, guys. In today's video with final cut, we'll be looking at the path feature called Front Minus back and back, minus front. Have a quick intro. Yeah. Mm. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. Uh, we have a variety of different Softwares we cover. And also we do upload videos daily, so keep winning new content. But if we add into the programme here Now, let's say we want to make this right. Cut out on this card shape. Then if we just look at our layers panel here, the important thing of this tool is the order of the layers of the position on them. So, as you can see, we have the cut out, which is this red cut out and the card. So at the moment, the cut out is a layer higher than the car. So if we, um, there's just a line these quick, we select both. If we drag a selection box nicely over both shapes, then we are aligned to the right side and they make sure to selection is selected and not to page. So then, if we select this were lying to write, and then we make sure where you're lying on the vertical access to the middle. Now, everything is nicely aligned with the shape still selected to locate the path to or feature will be going on top of your path. Then you'll see we have your front minus back, back minus front. Now, a good way to remember this is kind of like, um, you're gonna let's say the back minus front. So you're gonna keep the back layer, and this will be the card, and your mind is the front, so the front will become the cut out. Likewise, if you want to use something in the back, you'll use the front so we'll keep the front and minus the cut out from the back. So let's just have a look quick. We'll do the back minus front another way. We can do this. So if we're both objects objects selected, we'll right click and then we go to path and then you will see we have the same options here, front minus back on back, minus front to know if we select the back minus front, we will see that it cut out the right cut out. We've got a bit of an overlap here, but you can always fix that afterwards. Or rather, and when you align your too. So now would equally try it the other way around. Let's just move this So we get a nice cut out. Now, select both our shapes. Uh, it's kind of layers panel. Let's first move this, actually, then click and drag and move the cut out under the card, as you can see, cut out under the card. So we select both but path Now we're gonna go front minus back. Now, when we select this like I mentioned, it's gonna cut out from the back and only leave front now, as you can see, they nuts the same. Now we also have a border away because we moved it nicely. Well, if we go to our website and that is sorry, that is the basics on that. And it's a great tool to create custom borders for cars and so forth. Otherwise, yes, you're on the website. If you navigate your softwaretraining.co.za nd find this video and more videos like it. As you can see, we've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover, and also we have a search option here. If you want to look for anything specific, otherwise also, if you don't find what you're looking for, you'll see we have this option here. Requested training video. Then we will make that video for you. Otherwise, thanks, guys, for watching and cheers.
