Alright, guys, In today's video, we're gonna be looking at your file paths found under the preferences. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. co dot Z A. We make short and easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Otherwise, if we add into the programme here. So like I, uh, mentioned, we're gonna be looking at file parts today find under the preferences. So in order to go there, we first wanna go to our preferences, which will be under our main menu edit, and they want to go down to preferences. Let me click that. And then on the top here with these tabs, I wanna go now to the second tab. We already looked at the general. Now, over here, we've got file paths Now we've got three ones here, and this is all relevant to different things, so we'll start by the top and this is document. So currently, what's gonna happen is if I click open import or something in that line, even save this is the default location it's gonna take me to. Now you can choose a new one by going browse. So if there's a specific folder which you wanted to work within, maybe you have like, um, a one for work and different clients in there. Then you might just make it in the header on the head folder like the work one. So that is one option. And then under that, we have this little tick box where we can say, um update default location on import open or save. Now, if this is on, then what's gonna happen is if I import a file and then I go and open it's gonna go to that same location I import it from. Or if I go and save a file somewhere else when I click open, it's gonna go to the same place where I've saved my file. So it's gonna constantly update this folder depending on where you at, I can have you a quick, uh, sample of that. So let's say I'm gonna go here, file open, you can see we've got a little Grammy. It's opening it here. But let's say I go up one select this file, open it, and then we can close that. Say no. And then if I go file open again. It's gonna leave me in the same folder. I was just in even though we started in this folder. So now let's quickly gonna open this and change that setting so we can see the difference. This is currently with it enabled. So it's gonna constantly update it for us. Now, let's switch this off. So now, currently, our folder which we've chosen is this one with a Grammy. So I'm gonna do exactly the same formula. I'm gonna go up, open this one, close it, say no. And then if I click open now, originally it went to that little polka dot image. Now it should take us back to our little Grammy, which is over here. So that is the difference in those two. So, like I say, the the, uh if you have a more adaptive workflow, keep this one on, so it will adjust this document location every time you go to a new place. Otherwise, if you have a main project, you always wanna default to just leave this one off, then temporary files. This will be while you work in a programme with the temporary files. Get safe too. It's good to know where this is, so that if you have to clean up, maybe it gets too big or something. Crash and you want to try and look, if you can recover it, then you can always try and go. Yeah, but in general, just leave this area. This is more for if you, um kind of have an idea already how temporary files work, then This is a great place, but you can obviously redirect this to another area. So if you wanna easily be able to access it, you can do that. Then at the bottom here, we've got Adobe plugins. So this is only relevant if you actually have Adobe Photoshop with plugins installed. In my case, I do. So then what I'll do is, uh, by default. I think when you open the programme and you have it installed, it will ask you if you wanna connect the plug in so it will do this file path automatically. But let's say you get Photoshop afterwards, you install it. Then you can use this URL and then kind of navigate your programme files or wherever you've installed it. Then inside the Photoshop, you have to require it and then plug ins. And then what will happen is once that is set, then under your bit map, you'll see right at the bottom. Here we have adobe philtre. So this will allow you to use any philtres from Adobe Photoshop inside your programme on R the images so very handy I highly recommend it. If you do have it to set it up if it is not already, but yeah, otherwise that is it on the file part. So we've got the three main ones. We've got your, uh, documents. So your default location, I'm gonna leave that on, create temporary files and there'll be plugins very straightforward, but it is good to know what they do and where they are located. Otherwise, before we move on. If we head here to softwaretraining.co.za. co dot Z a you guys will notice we've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover. And you can also isolate your search on the top, right? If you do not however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go. Yeah, request the training video, fill in the mini form and then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and cheers
