TruCUT RDWorks Scaling your Objects Via Ratios (Part 5) Transforming Shapes Mini-Series

rdworks scaling objects shapes

When you are transforming things via Ratios, you can also view it more as percentage values.

Like with normal scaling, the Ratio scaling feature allows you to lock the X and Y values together for a more uniform transformation.

This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers Transforming – Mirror.

uh, you guys in today's video, we're gonna be looking at how to set an object or shape size using the ratio feature, and this will be done. In truth, that already works. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. Uh, yeah, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make sure an easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Otherwise, back in the programme here. Now, just a quick reminder again. This is a miniseries on transforming, um shapes. Yeah, and we all leave relevant links and description so you can follow it along now, when it comes to seeing the ratio of objects scale. But this will pretty much be doing is they will set it in ratio to what it is. So if this is, for instance, 100% 100 they normally use as a base, then if I just scale, is it 200% it will make it exactly twice as big or 50% will be half the size. So that's something to keep in mind. So there's two ways we can do this, Um, first ways on top year on this bar. I think they called it the football or something like that. It could be wrong. And the other ones here on our system work plate. So let's just select this and quickly Look at it now Just select objects you can drag with your selection tool on top left here, just a selection box over it. If it is not completely over it, it will not selected. So just keep that in mind, or you can select it on one of these rooms with it selected, especially the top year. So we have this little area with a percentage. As you can see that this is where we'll set out ratio. Now the lock next to it will lock the ratios together. So the horizontal and vertical otherwise, at the moment, if I say 200% on this, then it's gonna make it an oval for us. The bottom will still be. You can see 100 millimetres and the top 200 millimetres. You might also have noticed it resets it. So now this is the new 100% for the with. So to reset that back, we can even change the change about a year or we make this. 50% should be exactly half of what it was. We just we click this little lock and now let's try that again and we got 200% centre. Now you can see it's scaled both of them from 100 millimetres to 200 movies. So this is a quick way to set scales quite accurately by using a to a ratio feature. Let's just set that back to 50 now. The next way we can do this. Also, the object selected get your system we played. We go far right to the last tab, which is called Transformed. Then we go to the third one. You can see years racial? No, you can go up here again and then we can do the same thing to 100. But then, um, because I remember this one keeps the ratio is relevant. The moment I lock his answer, I'll try. Switch it off and we see doesn't still do it. Then put the lock off. Let's try now 200% again. Wait 200% like this 1. 100% I said, ultimately locks it. Maybe this changes it Let's see. There we go. Okay. So what is this called? It's not going to use this one much, but, uh, this will quite appropriate. Okay? Yeah. Any case, That is what it is. You guys can Maybe I pronounce it yourself in the Commons. Yeah, it's quite a mouthful. I'm sure if I did spend time, we'll get it. But anyway, so this is now unlock your proportions, you can say, relevant to each other where they cheque. And obviously underneath that, like, with rotation scale and those things, we've got actual anchor point. So if you I want to do and move from the bottom left corner, 200% click apply. Okay, I won't be a good example. So let's try that again. Bottom left corner. We keep us on. Officer will be 200. 200. Yeah. There we go. Now it's setting the ratio from that anchor point. Mm. Sorry. I'm still trying to read that word. Okay. Back to the video. Otherwise, Yeah, that is it. On setting it video ratio. If we go here to suffer training that see that today you guys don't notice you've got a variety of different software to recover. And also you can isolate your search on the top, right? If you do not, however, find what you're looking for. Jessica here requests a training video. Then we will make that video for you. But otherwise, things guys watching and cheers.
