Transformation Scaling and Resizing within the SAi FlexiPRINT RTUV 22 Software (Part 3)

flexiprint scale resize

Once again, another classic but very important transformation feature that we will be looking at.

When it comes to the Scaling and Resizing of objects, we are able to define an exact scale for design requirements.

all you guys in today's video, we're gonna be looking at resizing objects with in flexi print. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. co dot Z A. We make short and easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Now, if we get into the programme here now, like I mentioned in today's video, we're gonna be looking at scaling or resizing objects. Now, this is gonna be similar to the rotation, but obviously we're gonna be looking at scale. And what I mean similar is we've got two main ways to go about it. We've got the free hand way, which is, um, you have a lot more control and it's quick or should I say, not more control, but more freedom of control. And then we've got the second way, which gonna be way more precise. So that's if you're looking for exact measurements, but it's always or usually a little bit slower If, uh, compared to the freehand. So now let's do this. I'm gonna just add a little rectangle gear or square there. We've got a little shape. Now we can transform this now with a free hand transform. Make sure your selection tool is enabled on your secondary toolbar should be the top icon little mouse pointer. And then on our object, we'll have little control nodes to show which mode we're in. So at the moment we've got these squares on all the edges and corners. If I had to double click this, if you guys can remember, we can go to the rotation and skewing. And then if I double click again, this is the more like the node editors so we can go to other things. So make sure all these corners are square because these ones can be confusing because you've got corners as well. But they're all round corners, so then we'll double click again by default. It should be on this one. So unless you've actually double clicked, it should be on those square corners everywhere. So then what you can do is you can simply select one of these any of these and your left mouse button and drag, and it will scale. So let me show you. Click this top one. Your suma icon changes. Click, click this, then it will scale it. If I let go, it will confirm the scale. Now, uh, the difference between the corner scaling and the side ones is the corner will constrain your design without using hot keys and the left ones and the horizontal and vertical ones will not. So, like you saw there, if I click this top one and I scale, it doesn't matter if I right or left it will scale it relative to both edges. So if it's smaller or bigger, where if I had to click there on the horizontal one on the right scale, it you can see the top doesn't scale only the side scales. Likewise, with the top only the bottom. I mean, only the the top and bottom will scale now. So, in other words, the corner ones, it's constrained, so it will scale it in a constrained way, and these ones will not Now it's also important where you, uh which point you grab? Because let's say this is in the bottom corner here. Then I can grab the top right opposite corner, and it will scale it away from that, so it kind of makes that point the origin. Likewise, if I wanna move it to the other side. I'll scale from that side down then, Um, yeah, When it comes to the actual free and transform, there's a few hot keys we can use to change this. Now, play around with these, get some getting used to. But just a quick rundown. So you've got two main ones. You've got control and you've got shift and they will work differently. So let's say I grab this top one and then I use, uh I use shift. So now you can see our design is constrained. But if I keep shifting, it will unconstrained. So now I can move it in any way I want without it, uh, keeping proportions now with control. What that will do. Let's say I want to scale it horizontally, but I want to scale both sides, not just one. Then I can keep controlling and you see it can scale scales both sides at the same time. Now we can obviously do it vertical and horizontal like that. Now you can also combine those two. So if I the top right corner and that's how I've got control, you can see it constrains it, but it does both sides from the centre of the shape. Now, if I keep shifting, you can see it removed our constraint. Now, if I keep control and shift now it does it from the centre of the shape and I don't have constraints. So this is nice. If you wanna get a quick overall shape of your design, so pretty complex can scene. But like I said, play around with those shortcuts and you'll very quickly get used to what they do. Just remember, it's control and shift, and they can be used together or individually. Then the more precise way of scaling. We wanna go to our design central. So I already have mine open here on the right. Otherwise, just either control I or select it on your main toolbar. Nameless, Zoom in here on the first tab which you can see is called scale. Then, um, it is important. There is four values, but the ones we are looking at is the ones with the arrow keys. These ones won't be setting the scale but the location. So if I go here, I can now set this to exact scale. So let's say 24 centimetres, maybe by 30 centimetres. Oops. Uh, proportional still on. So that's good to know. So let's go back to 30 now That comes to our next option. So that is this proportional. If this is enabled, if I scale any one of these, it will scale the other horizontal or vertical relative to what the overall shape is. So if I wanna have the individual sh uh, measurements for both of these I have to click this one off. Then I can come on top here and then it's got 24. I make this 130 then you can see it is scaled it accordingly. So handy little tool over there, then under there, we've got the origin like a famous rotation. So we can now from this panel decide which one of these points we wanna scale it from. At the moment, it's centre. But let's say we go. Uh, maybe bottom left. Then I'm gonna put portion on so you can see. And then if I scale it, you'll see it keeps the bottom left corner as the origin. Likewise, you can set this to anything else. This maybe the middle right now. When I scale it, it will scale it around this point, but yeah, otherwise so that is pretty much it on the scaling. Just a quick summary. So we've got the free hand one which we can use these points and then we can combine it with control and shift to transform it easily. And then we've got the more precise one on the the design central panel top two settings under the first tab. And then we can use proportional or origin. It will scale around, but yeah, in the meanwhile, though, if we head here to softwaretraining.co.za. co dot Z a you guys will notice we've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover. And you can also isolate your search on the top, right? If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go. Yeah, request the training video, fill in the uniform, and then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and cheers
