uh, there, guys. In today's video, we're gonna be looking at how to create custom guides and remove them. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. co dot Z A. We make short and easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates halfway into the programme here. So now, in the previous video, we looked at setting up normal guides the horizontal vertical and maybe in some different degrees. So we know now at least where to find guides, how to add them. But now let's look at some more advanced options like, let's say we wanna make custom guides. Now, this will work with text shapes and like, free and drawing. So let's just make a few examples. I'm just gonna call this guide. Oh, my caps guides. Then you can obviously format this the way you want. I'm just gonna scale this up. Throw it there, then, uh, next up is make a custom shape. Maybe use the pen tool. Uh, it's grips on the ear. Make a bit of a hawk on the one side. Then let's just complete this shape here. We go grab that, OK? It's not a nice little line, but yeah, hopefully that is, that will be done with your designing. Let's say we've got these guides. Like Like I said, it can be most objects. You can turn them into guides. So then, with these ones, you can just either select one at a time or select them both in my case, and what I wanna do is go to my main menu on top. Let's see stuff. So zoom there and then we wanna go to a range, and then we go to we find the menu called guides. Then under that, you can see we have option here called make guide. I click that and then now you can see it has turned those shapes into guides for us. So this is very nice. If you've got presigned shapes that, uh, you use as guides or anything on that line, then, uh, you can do that. And obviously guys don't get cuts and print it, So, um, you can imagine how that could be also quite handy. Now, if you wanna un convert these again, you can simply select them, and then we're gonna go to the exactly the same place, so main menu. Then we go arrange guides, and then under that you'll see we have one called release or release guide. You click that it will convert our shapes back into, or our guides back into shapes and then say, If you wanted to edit them, you can obviously do that and then reconvert them and so forth. Now let's just quickly I'm gonna undo that. B guides again. Now, if you want to remove guides, it's pretty simple. You can simply select the guides you want. You can either go right click and delete now or what I can just do is simply with it selected. Press delete. Now something to keep in mind. Guides don't get selected like shapes, so if I make a selection box over that, it won't select it. I have to physically click on the guide with my left mouse button. Now you can use something like shift and click multiple guides. Uh, let's try that again. Here we go. Now, I've got all these. All three of these guides selected. So now if I he deletes on my keyboard, it will remove all of them, So yeah, otherwise that is aired on creating custom guides and removing them pretty straightforward. So main menu. Arrange with your object selected guides and then make guides, and then same way to release them and then obviously, just select them and hit the lead if you want to remove them. But yeah, otherwise, we head here to softwaretraining.co.za. co dot Z A. You guys will notice we've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover, and you can also isolate your search here on the top, right? If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go here, request the training video, fill in the mini form, and then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and cheers.
