Understanding the UI for Affinity using the AM.CO.ZA Vectorization System (Part 3)

affinity vectorization ui
When it comes to our program of choice for vectorization (Affinity), understanding the basic user interface is the best starting point.
Having a better understanding of the program’s UI will make the ease of using Affinity so much better.

Howdy, guys. In today's video, we're gonna be looking at the basic user interface for Affinity. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So, today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. za where we make short and easy to watch problem solving videos. Now, if we go into actual programme here, so let's presume you've downloaded it and installed it. And you open it, this is pretty much what you'll be met with. Now, if it is not, you can just go to Window, you can go to layout, and then you can go pick the stock one. And then it should arrange some of the things for you. Now, um, this programme has a few different options like you can work with more raster layout and some AI features, but it also has vector, and that's mostly what we're gonna be focusing on in this tutorial. So, some important things to note is on top here, on your main, main bar or your main, I don't wanna call it toolbar, but features bar, you'll see we have different options here. So, we wanna make sure we navigate to the first one, which is called vector, and this will change all our tools and so forth to be um vector enabled. So, when we're working with vector designs, um, yeah, that's what we're gonna be working with. Now, on the side here, you have some colours. You'll see also you have different tabs. So if you have another tab open and you're trying to change your colour, it's gonna get confusing. So we just make sure you go to something like colour and then you have that available. And now, you can obviously rearrange this the way you like. You can drag things out, dock them at different areas and so forth, but I'm just gonna leave uh mine like this for now. Let's actually pull this one out and uh dock it between us like it was. Then, on the left here, you're gonna get some nice tools for editing vectors. Now, when it comes to cleaning up the, our designs later, obviously, we're gonna be working with nodes and that. So we'll be going into some of these features, but just note this is what you, or where you'll find them. And another important thing will be when we're working with the cleaning is the sections on top here or the section, and this way, we'll be using different shapes and joining them or cutting out and so forth. And um Yeah, so it's also quite important when it comes to the actual user interface. Now, you can also go on file and you can simply go open. And then you can uh open files here based off the file formats that it supports. You also have an import option. Which you can do a similar thing where you can go try to find. Um, No supporter content. But yeah, so just uh overview of the user interface. Like I said, the main thing is you wanna make sure you're on vector here and you'll be using tools on the left and uh these control features to manipulate the different shapes. But yeah, in the meanwhile though, if we hit Uh, here to softwaretraining.co.za. You guys will notice, we've got a variety of different softwares we do cover, and you can also isolate your search on the top right. If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go here, request the training video, fill in the mini-form, then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise, thanks guys for watching and cheers.
