VinylCut 5 Auto Fit the Quickest way to Fit Shapes to the Mats Size, Step by Step Video

The Auto Fit function will resize a shape or selection of shapes to fit the boundaries of the Cutting Mat with a slight margin.

This is a great feature if you have a design and want to quickly scale it to the Mat size, or you want to change the designs back vinyl color with a shape without having to align edges.

Hi guys. Today's video is final cut. We'll be looking at the order fifth option, but let's just have a quick intro first so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. So now this is a great feature if you have a design and you want to fit it to the mat quickly and then so that where you know you're not wasting any cutting space or so forth whatever you're needs off. But then, in order to do that, let's just hide these arrows. Select your shape, then you want to go on top year to object, transform and you navigate to the bottom where it is part of. If you select that you'll see it, it's just shape to the mat. So now let's say you've got the text and you want to also do it with it. Then you will have to do it as a group, so make a selection box over both shapes. Make sure it goes over both because if it doesn't, they will not select. Or you can click on your layers on the right panel here and then click on the shape and then keep shifting and selected text, and you wanna group it. You can either use control G, or you go on top here to object again and you navigate a group. Okay, Now, just now, Layers, uh, to make sure that layout is right. So as you can see it through the text under the shape so select the texting were higher than your shape. Then we can just click on the shape because there's a group now will select all over and keep in mind if we'll right click, go to transform What a fit will not be there. So just in case you're using that method and you don't know why I can't find it. So you want to go on top object transform or if it and there you go, you've got a nice design it whether it takes this, uh, to your mat. But there is something to keep in mind. If you can't do this, let's say your mat is not perfectly square.
