VinylCut 5 Software Different ways to Move an Object or a Shape, Step by Step Video
vinylcut move object shape
When it comes to tools in your toolbox, moving shapes and objects are one of those tools you’ll end up keeping close at hand in your back pocket.
Like the Rotation and Scale tools, the Move tool has a few options similar to the rest, from freehand moving to placing the shape or object on an exact spot on the mat.

Hi there, guys. In today's video with Final Cut, we'll be looking at a few different ways to move shapes and objects. But let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za hat we have a variety of different Softwares we do cover, and also we upload videos daily, so just keep it there for a new content. Otherwise, we're back in the programme. Yeah, now we've covered the move to before and some previous videos. But this will be more in depth look of all the different ways we can move an object or shape, and I just keep in mind that does work with text as well. So I would say right off the bat, the easiest way to do that. It's just probably just to select your object by either clicking on it or dragging a selection box over it. Just keep in mind this election. Bach has to go over all the edges, otherwise it will not select it. Then another way you can select it is just go in your layers, panel you on the right and then select your, um, shape and just the pro tip. If you keep shifting with the selection box whichever, or if the selection box just goes over the edge of any object will select those objects, then. Okay, so back to it. So, first of all, if you just click your shape after it's been selected and you hold your left mouse button and you move it, it will move your shape. Like I said before, it's the easiest way you'll be using it the most. But there's otherwise. If you want to be exact placement, then what we can also do. We've got in the transform handles. We've got this top little one, which is, if you click that it will also move your shape Now if you want to constrain it and only move it in a certain angle like it's horizontally and these two little Arabs no mistake of the one arrow that will scale it. So these two little arrows click it and then you can move it on a horizontal axis. Otherwise, to click on a very cool we can do that and just a reminder to get all these transform handles in that it is using your selection tool, which is here on the left, then Also, we have basic and advanced settings, but, uh, we did cover the advance, but I would say you can easily stick with the basics. That's very handy, too. Then next up another way, we can move it. Let's say you want to put an exact location. Let's say it's for design and these requirements. So then what you can do is go on top of the object here to transform. And then we got here, too. Move. Once you've clicked this when we met with this move, uh, properties, What absolute position and relative, I would say, Keep it on absolute. And then over here, let's say you wanted to be if I should remember, it works on the top left corner. But, uh oh, this could be the centre. Let's just have a look. Let's make this eight. Make this one. If you want to preview it because it doesn't have a button, you can click apply. But the changes will happen. And he said, Okay, then let's see. So we said it was eight from the left, so let's just we can look up here. Yeah, so eight. And what? So it registers the top left corner here, Here. We've got eight under our ruler and 21 and then So you can use that as another way of moving it. Then we've got on the right here. I know. Position and size panel. We've got these little, um the X and Y values. If you're just that, we can see there, it does move around and then we have the nudging. So let's say you've moved it, but you wanna find unit, use the nudging, and as you can see, you barely see it move Beautiful. So for left and right and up and down, then, uh, I would say the last way, which is also used quite often. And that is your arrow keys. So if you look at your keyboard, you'll see this up down arrows and left. And right now, having your shape selected, you use them. And then you can also move your shape around on the canvas or on the mat. Otherwise, yeah, that is it on moving. There's obviously some aligned tools in that you can use, but that is a whole other topic. Otherwise, if we go to final cut, uh, the programme is freely available. They're just hatched downloads page otherwise on the softwaretraining.co.za. Like I mentioned this video and more like it's available, we also have a variety of different sorts. As we discover, then you can also isolate your search for looking for anything specific. But if you still run dry and you don't get what you're looking for, just go here. Request a training video, and there we will make that for you. Otherwise, thanks, guys, for watching and cheers.
