When you are working on large complex designs, using grouping will keep your design manageable.

Another thing when you are working with the grouping feature that is great, is being able to mirror grouped objects on symmetrical designs.

Alright, guys, in today's video truth that already works. We're gonna be looking at grouping shapes within your design. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. Uh, yes. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za c o dot z A. We make sure that easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also daily updates and that was back in the programme here. Just, uh, quick reminder that this is, uh, ministerial on the design where we will be covering a different design principles and some measuring, uh methods as well. I'll also leave relevant links in description so you guys can actually follow along. Now when it comes to grouping, this is quite a handy tool. If you wanna move, it's a multiple shapes or you've made a design and he want to make sure everything stays within that layout. So even if you move irritated, they don't work individually. And also something to keep in mind about grouping that you can, um, group it so it's not permanent. It's not like you've now joined the shapes, and this is not just the new shape. So now let's just have a quick example of a few, so I'm gonna grab this thing scared, little bit smaller. Let's say we want to add a clips of the year it's gonna first gives control the size. I like it. Move it. No, let's maybe add it. The shape of beers rotated a bit. So now what we can do is, as you guys can see, we move this. They're moving visually, you can try and move it together, but it can get quite messy quickly, especially if your design is quite complex. So what you can do is you just select these shapes and then, um, on top here, we've got these group options. So we've got the other group group in the middle and then a new group. So I'm gonna kick the middle one. And as you guys can see, all the colours has stayed the same, so you can still have different cut properties for them. But if I select this now, so legs it as a single object. No, you can obviously just select this and auto group. I mean, the in group button, and then it will be individual shapes again. I'm gonna group it again and order on group this works or the group kept falling. Group is, um it will group shapes within shapes. So if we have these three shapes here, if I had to hit the order on group Sorry opposed, I kept saying Order and group, the other group there will only group shapes within shapes, so this group shape will actually not become part of the group. So if we hit this and see the star individual, But now these two are groups, so it's just something to keep in mind with auto group the way that works now grouping is also very useful when you're working with mirroring and stuff which I will cover in the next video but otherwise just quick recap. So we get the other group, which is group shapes within shapes. Then we've got a normal group which will group anything you have selected. And then we also have one group.
