Styling Shapes In VinylCut 5 to Have Border Shadows or Being Blocked out

From border shadows to blockouts, this shape styling feature is a great and easy way to do just that.

With this feature being non destructive you can easily change the properties or select a new style at any stage. This feature is great for making nice stand out graphics for logos, t-shirts, banners and way more.

Hi there, guys. In today's video, we'll be looking at filing shapes using vinyl. Got five. Just a quick intro here. Mm, No. Mm. So this video and more videos like this can be found on softwaretraining.co.za hat's here. Today. We have quite a range of different tutorials. We do cover for different software, and we do also upload videos daily. So just keep an eye there for new content. Otherwise, back in the programme. Yeah. Now you have to style shapes. Let's say we've got, uh, this shape or text selected. Then what we can do is we go to the little Spanish here on the right, and then you'll see it says style. So under the style, we've got a few different options. We've got the normal, which will be its current shape. Nothing special shadow. We'll add a bit of a border around it. So if you want to text in the middle and then the shadow around it, I'll show you just how that looks. Then we have shadow around it, which were around in all the edges and then shadow straight, which would just keep straight edges. Then, with all of these, as you can see here you can set the size. So let's just say to You can see there is a bit bigger. And now if we click back to normal, it's just a normal text. And under that we've got blackout. Now what blackout does is, um, any shapes that have, uh, let's say, like cavities and holes in them that is closed the E p a, the P and then the G. This will block that out as well. So it's quite nice if you have, like a border on the back of your text for a logo or something, and you want to black it out. So I just have a look at what that looks like. Quick, good, black out. They'll see all those shapes is blacked out. Then you also get shadow blacked out. So it's the same as shadow, just with black out as well. And then same with us next to Okay, Now let's say it's got a normal say. We want to have this shape, but then, with, like, a border back penalty and then, um, you do that, let's say, Well, you copy your current shape, then we set this one said to black out with a blackout grounded border size will see. Now it's fine, then, to pace the shape back but in place, we'll go be going on top of to edit and then we go to paste in place. Control shift V as a shortcut. Now it has placed it over that, but we cannot see it because it's also black. So let's just select our new shape. We've pasted in the bottom layers here. Then we navigate to its style. Or rather, sorry. It's a full and colour or fill and stroke panel. We set the colour. It's maybe said this to, like read Now you can see we've got the shape in the background with Stalin Top. I'm kind of not liking the blacked out. So let's said this one's style to just shut around it, and then we increase the size of it About five. I've got a nice now it will make more sense, maybe to do the blacked out. So around five, we still got some gaps. But now when you're printing it, yeah, it all be covering most of those gaps. And now let's say, uh, you you want to print them individually so one on, Let's say, read Final one on Black vinyl. Then now, instead of just changing, Um, let's say you've got this one and changing this one style back to the other one. You can just keep your two layers and you just hide the layer that you don't want to get cut. So that's a simple way to do that. So then, if you want to cut only the red, you just do that cut, you remove it. You cut the black afterwards, kind of a great nice little feature to do that. So, yeah, that's the basic of of you, just of how to style your shapes. And then if we go to our website.
