Under Preferences, you will find a number of options, some of which you will probably never need to change.
But that being said, a few of this option might work better for you turned off vs on, but that will all depend on your workflow and user needs.
This is Part 1 of the Preferences Options.
Next video we’ll be looking at the Edit Tab (Part 1).

Hi, guys. In today's video, I'll cut Will be looking at the General tab. Another preferences. So I have a quick intro year. Just Mm. Okay. Yeah. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za y softwaretraining.co.za s a lot of different videos and software to cover. So keep I there, and then we do upload videos daily. Otherwise, back in the programme. Yeah. Now I want to be in vinyl. Cut here, uh, to locate the preferences will be on top, under edit. Mm. Then we navigate down until you find the preferences. We open this, we'll have two options here, General. We will show that two tabs. So the general and edit in today's video will be covering General. And then I'll put a link for the edit. Otherwise, when it comes to the first option, we've got S p g d p I. This is pretty much the d. P. I for the design. So we did cover this Another video, but i'll just quickly run through it. So let's say you making your designs and then w illustrator. Then you'll be setting this 1 to 72 d p i. There's something like escape the 90 and we've got coral draw year for 96 300 Also 100 if you work with that. So basically we said this or keep your design to the right size. That's what it is when we designed it. So in Final Cut will be the same size. Just leave mine on a day before now and then next up here, we've got history. Settings are kind of self explanatory, but we'll just kind of briefly cover them quick. So I remember last mat size. So under the document here on the right, if you've set your mat size to, let's say 12 or 24 inches, then the next time you started it will remember the that mat size, which is convenient to if you're working with a similar design size every time, and we've got your order scale mad to fit window. So by this it was selected on. If you change the size here, it will automatically adjust the view or the zoom so you can see your whole Matt. Otherwise, what will happen is that if we can see the zoom in on the bottom left, it will most likely zoom into 100%. So we'll blow it all over your screen, and you have to manually zoom out. So this is also a nice tool to keep on. Then we're gonna leave this one on keep Matt visible while cutting. Obviously, that says it all. Then on the right here, these are mostly these are for windows and the same with this. So we have a useful fund scan so you can use all the funds and then disabled quick time for importing images. But most of the time, you can just leave these ones all from the same with disable Open file preview. They just keep that of as well. So then, uh, next up here, we've got automatically switch priority taps based on the current selection. So basically, what that does is let's say you've got the text too selection, too. So I'm just gonna click OK here for now and show you Let's say we switch to the text tool. Now, if you see this tab on the right as we click the text tool, that will change to the text options somewhere if we select shape. Okay, I would imagine what we're going to this one but it does. But when it comes down to a certain tools, uh, different options. So if selection tools, which is the document, takes two and this is handy, just speeds up the workflow. So let's just go back there, Okay? The next up here, then, um, you also have warned me about too many funds installed. General, I'll also keep this one on and then embed images in project file. That's also it's a good one to keep on, because what that does is let's say you're importing a res, the image, or like, a picture. So jpeg PNG give tough something like that. And then if this is not selected, then if you've saved your project, you exited and you open it again the next day, those images will not be there. So if you kind of just tracing a lot and stuff like that, then you can keep it off. But in general, if you print and cut anything, you wanna make sure that the embed images in project file files them is enabled what you have to do it manually, re import them and move them. And it's just a slip. So, like I said next video. We'll be covering the edit settings so otherwise if we never get to software. Sorry, Uh, the programme is freely available. Then just head to the downloads page. You'll see it's available for Windows and Mac. Currently, then, uh, if we go to softwaretraining.co.za ? Uh, yeah, we do cover a variety of different Softwares like I mentioned you can see here, and also we have this nice little search options. So if you look at for anything specific, otherwise we don't finally looking forward. Just go to request a training video, and then we'll make that for you. Otherwise, thanks, guys, for watching until next one. Cheers.
