When it comes to the Pocket Engraving tool, this will be used when you need to engrave out cavities within shapes on your design.

The process might vary depending on the scale of your pockets and also the tool size.

Hi guys. In today's video, we're gonna be looking at an example that you could be using to pocket engraving. And this will be for router camp. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. Mm. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make sure an easy watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Otherwise, back in the programme here, Just a quick reminder. This is a miniseries on drafted cam examples where we will be covering a few different examples that you could be using or how it looks like when you use some of these two parts. Now we're gonna be looking at pocket engraving. And like I mentioned before, a lot of these, uh, processes will look very similar. Obviously, depending on your desired outcome and the material, you use it. So now Previously, we did some pocket. Yeah, sorry. Contour engraving where we did just the outlines. So now let's say we've got this piece I've already set up. So cut out the m .co.za. And then, um now we want to look at perhaps there are camp engraving that's serving that way. If you want to, you can put on a window or a backdrop where you can actually see light coming through the, uh Oh, and then this one is in grave, so you can always to tone it or something like that. So now what we're gonna do is select the graphs we actually want to pocket engrave, make sure all your projects settings are set up, right? Like your work piece and stuff like that. And then also, your settings your output because it's gonna be later important, obviously, for saving a G code. So then, with geographic selected, we'll click here on pocket engraving. We'll open up our toolbox. Let's call this. Um I'm just gonna call this throughout the camp pocket, so we know which, like, is the right one. I'm gonna keep it on one more because we're not working on a very big right work piece here. You guys show tool diameter. If you wanna have it nicely to see what's gonna be filled. I'm just gonna leave off. I'm gonna leave it on client then, um yeah, allowance. All of that. I'm gonna leave the same because I don't want. I want to exactly cut out inside. I put allowance is going to start putting white spacing and taking into it inside. Depending on the thickness of your material, you can sit engraving height and then I'm just gonna keep mine minus once. And I think to special leave my girl precision what they're saying, okay. And we go to G one g two as you guys can see the process pretty much the same with most of these different settings. You basically wanna to swallow this process. So you want to set up your work piece, set up your tool, make a preview, or generate it and then save the final file so you can actually use it on your machine Then A nice thing with this preview is obviously you can if you notice something is wrong. So we go here and you realise Okay, you know what? I would like this a little bit deeper. Going to materially obviously go right in front of you. So you see the death. Then you can quickly change it before you throw it in your actual programme. Then once that is done, we click, you're safe. And then, uh call this PG for pocketing break. Just make sure you know where you are. Saving your things too otherwise can get quite confusing when you finally looking for the farm. But yeah, otherwise that is it.
