When you are working a lot with a certain text format within the design, being able to set the default text is a great time saver.

There are ways one can go about without having set what the default text looks like, but these methods will take way longer than just setting up the defaults first.

Hi there, guys. In today's video Flexi Starter, we're gonna be looking at how to set your default text. But before that does have a quick intro first. Yeah, mhm. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make sure and easy to watch problem solving videos, and we have daily updates. Otherwise, we're back in the programme here now, for those of you that are new, this is a mysterious working with texts, and we will leave relevant links and descriptions that is going to follow along. Otherwise, if it comes to the default text, as you can see, you can have a variety of different options. Should I say the options are nearly limitless but something to keep in mind? So let's say we text tools on the left, which I'm hoping when Now I don't have to explain what to look at it anymore. So that's how we got test then, um, so I'm gonna go to my selection tool and change the font, maybe the scale of it and the colour and you'll see now we got to the text to We've got test. Now it's reset. It Now, let's say, you know, this can be a handy but also frustrating if you don't know where to change it. So let's say you're working in design, and most of your design is going to be using this fund scale and so forth. And you don't wanna every time you make new to exchange the old way you used to do that, you would select it and make a copy of it and then just edit that text. That's by far the quickest way, but you can always just simply just set a default. So now what we can do is to set the default, make sure nothing is selected, and then make sure your text tool selected you on your obviously main tool box. Now you can see we've got all the text options, colour and so forth. So now what we can do is, let's say we go. We choose a font and obviously the previous year, and also if you know what the fuck is called, just search for it. Describe something that's quite different that we're not using yet. Then you can set the scale. You can actually play around with that, and then let's grab colour with maybe not used here, which is stick. Let me tell you, the Skype I like that colour increase the size and then obviously increases spacing and all the other things. Now, if we can do so now, as you can see also, you're on a default on the bottom. Left our colours. The colour has been changed. So now let's grab. Takes two chocolates for tea, which I just used. A test, sir. Test. Now you can see a default. It's no longer this, um, Orange One was like a very generically rounded text. So and then what? You know, obviously do. Let's say, because the scale you can be a bit off. Let's say you wanted the scale smaller and select your text. Scale it what you like it. You can either make a mental note, or you can just select this double click to take over control C to copy, and then we deselect go to the text tool again with nothing selected, go to the scale, going to double click control V into now. If we take our text tool, the scale will be the same, which is a pretty convenient Like I said, If this is great, if you're going to be working on the design, where the majority of your text certain style, then what can simply do is if you want a header, you can. Just with the same default, you can maybe go make it caps. Hey, there. Then you can just move this to where you want it, and then you individually change this so you can go choose your new font, maybe colour and skate. So that way you're only changing the text. Um, relevant that you're not gonna also show the text that you're not going to be using often. And then your generic taste will stay at a certain beef. Otherwise, yeah, that is it on setting a default text. Like I said, a very handy tool, especially if you're gonna be using a certain font and so forth a lot.
