Setting the scale for your PDF prints in your printing options will differ depending on your desired outcome.
There are a few options that will help you change the final outcome, which will depend on if you would like to print the entire design, or have it at alternative sizes.
hi guys in today's video Flexi Starter, we're gonna be looking at the scale option for the print to PdF or print to a desktop feature. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. Mm, so today's video can be found a softwaretraining.co.za ncealer. Today we make sure that easy to watch problem solving videos. We also have daily updates. Otherwise, we're back in the programme here now. Scale feature. We've got a few different options to look at, so let's hit or head right into the print option so we can look at that. It's obviously can locate your print by I'm going file print, or we can go control P as a shortcut and will open up prince settings. Now. The previous two videos we looked at the printer and copies. Today we're gonna be looking at the scale. And as you can see, we've got three different options. The first one is for drawing to paper. Know what this is going to do is, um, if we don't have a selection only enabled, then it's gonna fit anything and everything on our page that is draw able to the paper. So it's gonna fit everything we've got you even a little extra menu stuff I've got at the bottom what we can with this do with this feature. If I cancel it, let's say we just want to fit this to the the actual page and I can select that. And then under the print options, we're gonna put select only on and they make sure they say to print I'm sorry, foot drawing paper and then now will only print that all that information to the actual paper then. But I'll leave that off now, then, next up here, we've got the default, which is fit border to, um, paper. And what this means is this design board here, it's gonna fit that to the paper. So whatever is within this design, like, if I have stuff here at the bottom like you guys saw, it will not add it because it's not in the design area. So if I get control p to go back there, so we have that enabled and only what it's gonna be on the actual design area or be in the final print. That's kind of normal. How you at work, I would say, But in some cases you might have your, uh, image if you want a bit smaller or bigger. You know, what we can do is we go to the third option year under the scale, which is scale. Then you can see we've got percentage values here so we can increase or decrease it. So you can, for instance, of 50% if you want to decrease it a bit, um, you can also scale it up quite a bit more or you can put in your own custom values. So if you want to fine tune it we saw the default I think was 66 point 5% then, um and what we can do is let's say you want to make it a little bit small, and then we'll just change this to 60%. You'll see it automatically updated you on our preview options. So that is quite nice that you can actually send in custom values. But I would say for most users, just leave it on the middle setting print or foot border to paper as this is designed to work, morph in accordance with most design, uh, principles. Should I say so where you wanna whatever is within your design area. Print that only in anything outside of it basically discarded. So that is great. If you're working on designs, you can have some extra things. You use a lot on the side. Just throw copies of them inside your design area, and then you don't have to constantly delete things and remake things. But yeah, that is it on the scale options Just also a quick reminder that this is a miniseries on printing today. Support printing to pdf. Now we'll leave relevant links in the description so you can actually follow it along. Otherwise, you're under softwaretraining.co.za z.
