FabriCAM Software Configure Vector Art Part Settings (Part 2) Step by Step Video Tutorial

fabricam vector art part configure

Now that we understand the difference between high quality and low quality settings, we can move on to the next step.

When it comes to the next step of opening high quality art parts, we want to look at how we are able to optimize detailed vector designs.

This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers Part Collisions.

Alright, guys, In today's video, we're gonna be looking at how to configure our art parts when importing them. But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. And we make short and easy to watch problem solving videos, and we also have daily updates. Otherwise, we're into fabric cam here. So I'm gonna quickly start a new, um, sheet here, make it 1000 by 1000 just the thickness to six. Now, in order to get the art pieces in the vector art pieces or D x f, you're gonna go here to open file on your main toolbar. Let me just fix this zooming click that and then you want to navigate to your actual file where your D X a file is located in my case is over here. I'm gonna click it and then you will see it might take a little while depending on the quality of your art piece. Um, you will bring a little preview on the right. Then I'm gonna say select and it's gonna give us the basic import options. So first of all, I want to choose, How many do I want? And do I want it? Um uh, manual or auto, I'm gonna go manual one. And then, um, if we had to add it now, if we go our configuration, you can see our o part is not active. So if we are to say add, it will tell us here, Um, the odd part has many, um, points. Please activate. Uh, o parts option configuration tells you where. Don't click. Yes, because they ask you there. Continue question, Mark. So you say no. And then you want to first go and activate this over a year, you'll see automatically. This activates another one, and it activates the import will allow input open contours. So I'm gonna activate that now, If you do it without it being activated, what's gonna happen is first of all, it's gonna take forever to import. It could take, you know, 5 to 10 minutes. And then what is gonna happen is every single shape here it is going to import as its own little shape. Here, you'll have to manually try, align them. It's just a mess. So if you're doing anything with a high quality like this and they quite complex. Make sure you enable your, um, o pot. Now, if I had to add it now, it will go straight. But let's just look at another option quick. So if I go here to view in the bottom, um, if we click that and we can see over here at the bottom a few settings which is important So we've got our lines and so forth, but, um, most importantly, on the right to total number of entries. So the higher this number is, the more complex your art beats will be, and then you'll see here at the bottom. It says import philtre reduction of points from original part 41%. So if this number is very high and it struggles to import it, then we can always try reduce the overall quality. But it does a very good job at, um removing points without it messing up. But if you remove too many points and what you can simply do is just up the value again. So what we can do is we get to configuration and then under your convert poly line to arc and tolerance, we can adjust this now, At the moment it is 0.1 and it was taking 41% or reducing by 41%. Now let's try 01 say apply. OK, and then I'm just gonna click view again. Now we can see it's gone down to 1000 and 98. So it's nearly half. It was around half and then we've got your 65% reduction. You can get a little preview as well. Which is, um, that's good to know. So if your art piece is very complex, you can consider doing that. I'm just gonna go over here, set mine back to 0.1 or 0.1 because the amount of points out of mind make sure I have a manual manual equal to one so I can add it. And I'm gonna say, Add a year, it's gonna load a little bit, but it takes a fraction of the time compared to the If you had to do it with another method, then what you can do is you just click and add your iPod in a zoo in Yeah, and then if we got to Cam, just wait for it to load. Yeah, there we go. We see we've got some cutouts, some contour lines and so forth. Now there's a few other things we need to look at here, but we'll be saving that for the next video. Yeah, otherwise, in the meanwhile, if we head gear to softwaretraining.co.za. You guys will notice we've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover. And you can also isolate your search on the top or right. If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking for, just simply go. Yeah, request the training video, fill in the mini form and then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and cheers.
