Tired of wasting paper and vinyl with too many test prints? Then the preview option is for you.
Lots of precious time and resources can be saved with a simple preview before send your designs to the cutter. With the cut preview and the list of handy option within it, you can now be way surer about the final outcome before ever doing a single test cut.
other guys in today's video, we're gonna be looking at the preview option. Get in final cuts. Just go to the intro. Okay. Now, remember, if you know where you can find this video, you can always go to softwaretraining.co.za. That CEOs, uh, we've got more videos there on different programmes and so forth, and then also we upload videos daily, so keep an eye on that. Okay? Now you're in the actual programme. Good reason to use the previous option is so that mainly you don't waste a lot of resources, so you can kind of get a good idea beforehand. What's gonna look like, what's going to be cut before you actually do a lot of test prints and cutting random things, and then you just, you know, wasting time and resources. So now, for instance, like with these two shapes here it is, um, like, just by looking at it, you'll be thinking, Okay, it's gonna cut this shape, and then it's gonna cut this shape, you know, the way they look. But as we can see here, they're actually overlapping. So now if we click here on the preview top here, then you'll see they're actually having a overlap here. Which means now we're in this final cut. The final cut is gonna cut three shapes where it only needed to actually cut to shapes. So now, under the previous options, we've got your show cut lines and then, um, show draw lines. So this is nice sometimes with, like, paths and stuff like that. Then so stuff is not going to be cut, and then the rest here, we'll be covering, See? Yeah. So then, um, let's say you want to, like, import graphics or something, then, uh, you know, it's a like a good little monkey with its gotta see through background. So it's actually a square now if it's not by default printing cut lines, which mine happens to be, So we go to preview that you can see where the cut lines are. But let's say you're importing graphics and it does not do that. And what you can always do is you select your little monkey. Mm. And then you go on top year, or your graphics are and you've got your trace, and then we'll pop up the trace options. Then you select your image. You want to trace And then, let's say go update previous. Now, by default, you'll see it, uh, makes cut lines for all the shapes. So if you're cutting out individual shapes for all the colours, then this is fine. Let's say your printer can actually, um, print and final cut. And so you're gonna make, like, a sticker base, and you want to cut outline. Then what you want to do is you go to the bottom of your to black out, select that and update the preview, and then you'll notice that it's only cutting the outline. Yeah, Then you select okay, and then it will make an individual little shape for what's gonna be cut out. So if we go to preview like, imagine how this one did not have cut lines, then you've got to preview here. You can see there is the new cut lines, so they'll just be over your graphics, which is quite convenient. And then let's say it is, uh, one of those machines are going to print and cut. Then you wanna switch on here the show principle. Now you can see a graphics, and you can see where it's going to be cutting. Mm then another handy one to know is a show print margins. So this will be where your vinyl cutter will be printing. So if we click that you can see Okay, yes, the border to anything outside of this it will not be printing. So if your graphics is, let's say every year, then it's gonna only print off. So it's good to preview this so you can get a good idea. So you don't accidentally only print a piece of it then the last one year we've got the show nodes. We select that. Then you can kind of just, like connect the dots, but with a smooth intersections. And then you can kind of see where's your outline gonna be. And in some cases you can modify these, say, if it's not completely accurate. Otherwise we just head over to the website here. Yeah, now you know. So the print preview option is a great way so that you like I said, and grace resources, stuff like that, and then, yeah, just actually saves you a lot of time. But then you're on the website. Let's look at you know you can go to softwaretraining.co.za. That's the other day. And then over here you can find more videos like this, or you can look here on the software you can choose. If you're using a different programme, you can just go down the list, see if we have anything there already or if you can finally click, search and then see if you still come short. You can always go request a training video, and then we'll make that for you. Otherwise, thanks for watching guys and, uh
