FabriCAM Software Adding a New Custom Base Sheet (Part 1) Step by Step Video Tutorial

fabricam new custom base sheet

When you are starting a new project adding a New Sheet will be the first thing we want to do.

The New Sheet feature has a few different options and properties to choose from before starting though.

This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers Close Sheet.

other guys in today's video, we're gonna be looking at your new sheet function, and we're gonna be looking at the first option in it, which is your sheet. But before that, let's have a quick intro first, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We make sure an easy to watch problem solving videos. We also have daily updates. Otherwise we go back to the tutorial. Yeah, so now, yeah, when we're starting with a new project, this is probably quite important step and they'll be adding a sheet to your actual project. Now, in order to do that, we can go either to file on top here but the menu main menu and then we go new sheet or what we do on our, uh, primary toolbar. We can just go here to new sheet click that little icon now. Like I said, if you want to do any cutting or so forth is is a requirement. Now the first option we're gonna be looking at here is the sheet you'll see. There's a little great outbox over year called sheet with a few different options. So we've got X y in millimetres and then the quantity. Now the quantity is great out, but we'll be looking at the X and y now, if you have a specific project and you know the size of your material you're gonna be using. So let's say you've got a steel plate and it is 800 by 600. Then you'll be typing it in here. But where you type the 806 100 is quite important, as if you type it wrong. It's gonna or should. I say, if you type it in a certain way, it's gonna be a landscape. In another way. It's gonna be a portrait, but that obviously depends if your X and Y is not the same. So what you can do, you can just go to your actual sheet measure, take a measuring tape and then you measure the width of it and the height of it. And then you can kind of get an idea of what it is. You can also do the actual thickness. So I would say I recommend you. You measure those three but the thickness and that we're covering in another video. So now let's say your sheet is 800 wide and six. Uh oh, yeah, I say 600 tall or high, then what you want to do in the X, which means it's on a horizontal plane. You wanna go 800. And then why is your vertical plane, which is one We will go 600 Obviously. Let's say it is the other way around. And you can always change this. And also obviously, depending on your actual, uh, CNC machine the size of it and that you might have to change the orientation of these ones. And then for now, I'm just gonna put in a diamond of one just for so we can start it. Now. If we say okay, you will notice it has created us 800 by 600. Um, plate over here. So now you can see the measurements here in the bottom, right? If I zoom mia and see, there's our measurements. Now, obviously, it's a bit hard seeing it there while I am using this, uh, my mouse cursor. But we can see over here. We're about zero. Go all the way to the right. It is. They're on about 800. And the same way. If we go from the height, we're looking at 5 99. So it's probably about 600. There we go, and we go to the bottom and then once again, we have around zero there, So we know. Okay, this is 806 100 you can work with your custom sheet like this. So once again, just a recap. You can just click new sheet type in custom diameters you want. If you have a project that requires a very specific size that will office, they also depend on the material you have at hand. But yeah, that is it on adding a new sheet with custom diameters. Um, yeah, in the meanwhile, before you move to the next. If we go to softwaretraining.co.za z, you guys will notice we've got a variety of different Softwares we do cover, and you can also isolate your search here on the top, right? If you do not, however, find the training videos you're looking forward to simply go Yeah, requested training, video filling the mini form. And then we'll do our best to try and make that for you. But otherwise thanks, guys, for watching and, uh
