VinylCut 5 Software Practical Preview Using Nesting (Part 2) the Nesting Video Mini-Series

Now that you understand what the Nest feature settings do in VinylCut 5, let’s try them out in a project.

One thing to keep in mind when working with the Nest tool, and that is that the values you’ll be setting for all the settings will vary from project to project, depending on its needs.

All right, guys, today is a bit of final cut. We're gonna be having a continuation on the next feature and just doing a few practical. You just see how would we do it on actual project? But before that, let's have a quick intro first. So today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za. We have a variety of different ways to to cover, and also we upload training, get us daily. So just keep out there for a new concept that was weird back in the programme here. Now, like I mentioned, this is a continuation on it. Previously we covered or we had an overview of what all the settings do for this feature. And today we're gonna look at actual hands on how do we go about it now? This is a miniseries, so I will leave relevant links in the description so you guys can follow along. Now let's go to a new page. So let's say we've got this example here. So as you can see, we've got Maybe that's for a baby shower for boy, because we've got the little bears and the blue dummies. But now you can also notice that there are different colours. So when we finally want to cut this, we want all the bears on one colour all the blues on another colour. So how I would go about this is I would select all my blue, which is already in a group. Otherwise you'll just keep shifting and select all of them manually with your mouth. And then I would cut this off the page, either right clicking, going cut, getting control, X for cuts or we go to on top edit, cut and go to a new page based in here either right click, kings and paste. We can go to object. I'm sorry. Edit, and then we go paste to move this to the edge there. And now we've got two pages are different colours. So let's start with the Bears. And now we want to nest, all of them first. So we go to effect on top and then we're gonna go to nest from his settings. I'm gonna put my view so we can see all the bears. So, uh, by default, what I would normally do, I would just leave settings all at standard and Hit update preview, but with one exception If I have a group, I'll make sure I click on groups and treat everything has gotten grouped. And let's try this, see if we are lucky and if it's all the best force, there we go. So it is fit all the bears. And as you can see, we're not easily gonna fit another being there. Even if we tweak with these settings, Yes, fit that again. And I won't easily be able to do that unless I scale some bits anyways. Then what I'll do is I'll just click, okay? And then this page is basically ready for cut. But you can see your little shapes are there and they're all the same colour. And next up we will go to the blue dummies and then I'll go to the same co effect. Then we got next and then once again, click on group. If you have groups and then we click update, preview, Go. If we can see this one is just nest it. I would say we could easily fit another dummy in there, as you guys can see. So now you can, either. Just after you said okay, duplicated or maybe two dummies and I make duplicates and try re nest. But what I would personally do, I would just make copies of these and manually, then try for them in year. Mhm. We'll be really surprised if I can get three. And, yeah, it's about right. So imagine that we've got extra three dummies in our space without even average players rotation easily just trying to take these ones. I've put them even more snug, but yeah, you could potentially get another one in if you're really desperate, but yeah, so that's basically the practical view on it. So the next really helps you to save resources and get more out of your your resources. It also helps your production time because now you can produce more with less resources.
