With so many different ways of duplicating objects and shapes, which is the right one to use.
When it comes to the right one to use, that will all depend on the desired outcome and need. If we are looking at speed in the workflow, then this is so the way to go.
This video is part of a Mini-Series.
Next video covers Duplicating with Copy and Paste.

Hi guys. In today's video Flexi starter, we're gonna be looking at how to duplicate objects by using your mouth to drag and drop. But before that, let's have a quick intro feels Yeah, so today's video can be found on softwaretraining.co.za Today We, um make sure that easy to watch problem solving videos. And also we have daily updates that was back in the programme here. Now, this is gonna be a miniseries around duplicating objects as there's a few ways to go about. I will also leave relevant links in the description so you guys can follow along. But now, to start like I mentioned earlier, we're gonna be doing dragging and dropping. You can say, by keeping control in now, the system is probably one of the quicker ways of making duplicates of objects. And, uh, you will most probably be navigate between this and maybe your classic copy paste keys. So we definitely get familiar with this one, because you do use it quite a lot. So first of all, we'll need something to duplicate. So I'm just gonna draw a basic rectangle. Yeah, make sure your selection tool is activated then you select. Make sure your shape is selected. Now, if we are hovering on this and we keep controlling, you'll see it makes it a little plus by the mouse cursor. So if I do that again, he says a plus, I mean, right now it's gonna try and make a duplicate for us. So now if I keep controlling, drag it and then we've got this little, um review of where it's gonna go. If you have under your view and then show preview on, then I'll show another shape. But otherwise, yeah, so then you just go and then keep you release your left mouse button and it will make a duplicate for you. But now let's say you wanted to have an exact copy next to it or under it aligned. Keep controlling and you can see it's not quite aligned. You could, perhaps, if you try really hard. But to do that, we want to constrain the actual, um, duplicate or copy. So to do that, we're gonna keep controlling and then left, Click like before and drag your mouse and make a copy. And then once this is active, then you wanna keep shifting with control. Now you'll see it locks it on. The horizontal axis can also do it on the vertical, and you can also do it in between like there's a think of 45 there's a few between those we kind of locked into those positions, so this is great. If you want to make an exact duplicate to the right at the bottom, where it stays in the same position, I just keep in mind. It is important. Don't go from the beginning to control and shifting as it will not do what you expect to do. So you first want to keep controlling like click. Once it starts making duplicate, then only keeps shifting, then it will constrain it. So just a quick recap again. So to make a duplicate, you wanna select with your left mouse button and make sure the selection tool is on. Keep controlling left leg drag. Place it where you wanted them and release the left mouse button. It will make a duplicate or keep controlling before left mouse button drag, and then once it's in motion, it keeps shifting, and then it will try constraining. As you can see, it's constraining it to the object duplicating. So we're constrained to this shape here, to the you can say, the parent, which is the original. Otherwise that is it on duplicating by, um, dragging or clicking and dragging. We head here to softwaretraining.co.za hat we do have a variety of software cover. And also we have a search option here which you can isolate. Your search is if you look for anything specific. If you do not find what you're looking for, however, you can always call you requested training video and then we will make that for you. Otherwise, Thanks, guys watching and just
